As
the students eagerly await the Indian festival of lights, “Deepawali”, an Inter
house Lantern Making Competition was organised at GG International School for
classes III to V on 19 October 2013. All
the students participated in the competition zealously.
The
competition was held in their respective classes. Students got their material
and crafted beautiful lanterns using various techniques of folding and cutting
paper. They later enlivened the lanterns with lights and colourful
embellishments. It was a visual treat to see the children giving wings to their
imagination.
The
house teachers selected one entry from each house per section from each of the
classes and put the creative work of the students on display for the final
judgement. The criteria for the
judgement were design, creativity, materials used, effect of lighting and
overall effect. The competition was adjudged by a parent- judge Mrs Anju Mittal
and the Art teacher Mr Rajesh Deshmukh. They appreciated the efforts put in by
the children. Mrs. Anju Mittal commented, “Children
have been very creative and have put in a lot of hard work. They have
maintained the spirit of Diwali and have showcased their talents.”
The
participants from Class III, Agrima Panwar from Eklavya House stood first; Bhumi
Pandhare from Abhimanyu House and Atharva Chikhaliker from Dhruv House were the
1st and 2nd runners up respectively.
The
participants from Class IV, Anukriti Khanna from Sharvan House stood first; Himanshu
Jindal from Abhimanyu House and Ritesh Deshmukh from Dhruv House won the 1st
and 2nd runners up position respectively.
