Dandiya Raas in G G International School

“The Dandiya Raas dance originated as devotional Garba dances, which were performed in Goddess Durga’s honor. “

G G International School looked like a mini Gujarat, with all the children of the pre primary and the parents, all dressed up in traditional Gujarati attire and dancing to the rhythmic dandiya beats!

The parents of the pre primary were invited to take part in the Dandiya Raas Event in the school. It was an opportunity for them to spend some enjoyable time with their children.
The children came well equipped with dandiya sticks, all ready to dance to the beats of the dandiya music! The girls were dressed up in colourful ghagra cholis and the boys dressed in traditional garba costumes. It was indeed a treat to the eyes to see the little ones in such colourful clothes!

It was heartening to see the tremendous response of the parents ,who turned up in huge numbers ,all excited to play dandiya with their little ones !They also got an opportunity to play the Dandiya Raas with their friends and the teachers as well.
Traditional gujarati music was played and everyone was engrossed in swaying to the rhythmic beats of the dandiya beats!

The Dandiya Raas Event was indeed a great event! It would be appropriate to mention the support given by the management and the efforts of the pre primary team and the administration staff who helped in making this event a grand success.
