Hindi Story Telling Competition at GG International School




Imagination is the key to creativity and children can be trained in many ways to develop stronger skills of imagination. One of the ways is storytelling which teaches children about the world, provides real-world social interaction, and develops both knowledge and love for stories. With this view, GG International School organized an Inter- House Hindi Story Telling Competition for Classes I and II on 3rd September, 2013. A preliminary round was conducted in the respective classes and as per the criteria four children per section per house were selected from each class. Each participant narrated a beautiful story with a moral value. Students participated zealously and impressed the audience with their confidence. The activity helped the students to inculcate good moral values, enhance their vocabulary and speaking skills. 



The judges Mrs. Atinder Oberoi, Head of the Hindi Department; Mrs. Alka Gupta, a proud parent and Mr. Rajat Jain, Hindi teacher lauded the efforts put in by the by the students.  The participants from Class I Rishabh Gaud, of Abhimanyu House stood first, Salil Amrutkar, of Dhruv House stood second, and Vedika Iyear of Shravan House stood third.  The participants from Class II Tanushree Madhe of Eklavya House stood first, Parag Mittal of Abhimanyu House stood second and Pavit Chandoke of Shravan House stood third. Mrs. Atinder Oberoi expressed her feelings of pleasure by saying that the children were very enthusiastic and the way they expressed themselves was appreciable. She also appreciated the efforts put in by the parents and the teachers to help the children showcase their talent.

Ad-Mad Show








The 24th of August 2013, began with a lot of excitement for the parents of the Pre Primary! They had been invited for an Ad Mad Show in the school. Everyone was curious to know about the event.

            At school, the enthusiastic parents were welcomed very cordially by our ushering committee. They were directed to their respective classes and there, they were divided into groups of eight. Each group was given chits to pick-up through which they selected their topic, for which they had to prepare an advertisement with a suitable slogan or jingle. They were given twenty minutes for preparation.

            The scene that followed the initial instructions by the teachers was full of excitement! It was the time for the parents to put on their thinking caps and put forth their creative and innovative ideas!

            Finally it was time for exhibiting their advertisements on stage!
            The products selected for the advertisement were-

Group1          K0       Lollipop
Group 2         K1       Namkeen
Group3          K1       Mobile
Group 4         K2       Cooking Oil

Each group gave their best and advertised their product in the most innovative and effective manner! They were judged for participation, presentation and the best jingle or slogan.
      
            It was a very enjoyable morning for the parents and the teachers as well. Parents were extremely happy to have got an opportunity to go on stage and display their acting talents!

            Mrs.Arpita Mitra was invited to judge the show. The K0 group was judged the winner. The winners were given key chains (for the parents) and the children from the winning team were given pencils as prizes.

            The event was a grand success and enjoyed by all the participants and organizers together!

The festival of DahiHandi was celebrated in GGIS with utmost pomp and gaiety. The whole environment was filled with joy and cheer. The male staff members of the School were the ‘Govindas’ who made several attempts to reach the Handi and finally madea pyramid and broke it .Our Principal Mr. MuradSarfraz played a heartening role The Students from class III-XII witnessed the entire event with enormous zeal and zest. All the teachers participated in the celebration with enthusiasm. The Students delved into the religious and Cultural aura which the celebration brought.

. Report on Inter House Mono Acting Competition.

OBJECTIVES OF COMPETITION: To help build confidence and effective communication skills.
     2.  To imbibe great qualities of our national leaders.

DETAILs  OF ACTIVITY: -     The  competition was organized for the students of class III to V. One student per class from each house was short listed. The house teachers selected the speeches of national leaders and helped the students learn the speech with correct pronunciation and intonation. Twelve students participated in the competition. All the participants were well prepared and also dressed as National Leaders. Their speech presentations influenced, inspired and made a meaningful impact on the audience. The criteria for the judgment of the competition were closeness to actual delivery, voice modulation, confidence and resemblance to character.
OUTCOME OF ACTIVITY: -It was a unique activity. The students realized their potential in reliving the inspiring speeches of the great leaders of our country.
