“Educate your children to self-control, to the habit
of holding passion and prejudice and evil tendencies subject to an upright and
reasoning will and you have done much to abolish misery from their future and
crimes from society.”

The Class
Presentation of Class IX B of GG International School for the academic
session 2013-14 was held with great fanfare in the assembly area on the 19th of
October 2013.
Students presented
a skit on self control, the main story revolved around match fixing in cricket-
the only game which people love and applaud the most. The disgusting story of match fixing, greed, &
deception concluded by sending a strong message that NOBODY CAN FORCE YOU TO DO
EVIL, UNTIL YOU HAVE EVIL WITHIN YOU, once that evil emerges; a moral decline
takes place
Self-Control is a thinking skill that helps children
learn to control their feelings and behaviour in order to take good decisions,
while aiding in reducing impulsive actions and dealing effectively with
frustration and odd circumstances to maintain ones integrity.
Values like controlling emotions, team-work, and
adjustment, tackling peer pressure, patience and appreciating ideas of other
students to harness powerful and instinctive feelings and redirect their
thoughts toward positive attitudes were effectively delivered. It was a
pleasure to see the confidence and enthusiasm of the students.
The proud
parent appreciated the efforts of their ward, and felt proud to see them
enthusiastic and skilled.
The meaning
of the self control was further explained by Vice Principal Ma’am, emphasising
on the importance of such activities and parents and teachers involvement.
The
programme concluded with the vote of thanks to the school management, art,
music, administration and housekeeping departments and a special thanks to
parents for their gracious presence.
